So, every day since last Thanksgiving, I have posted a daily gratitude/tiny happy post on Facebook. It is to remind me that life is good, especially when I was struggling with a break up and a lot of intense grief. It was also to remind others that I value them and that they are important to me, so I was tagging every one of my friends over the year....
The other day, this was the response, and it proved to me that this practice really spreads the happy exponentially:
From the moment I met you, my life had changed for the better. Many bad memories from high school were holding me back from seeking true happiness in my life. It was applying a filter to the world around me that people are generally were good, except to me because i was different - thank you Ra High School. You helped me
realize that I was not alone. The bullying, the stares, the awful words that i had to endure during that time made me stronger, but you helped me realize that my blinders were so strong that I couldn't see that there were truly good people around me all along. I admire your strength and courage to step into any situation and still be at peace, your pure excitement for doing the things you enjoy and to help others, your honest concern for people around you, and your innocence in putting yourself out there for others, relationship and friends, without shutting down due to expected consequences. My life is truly better since i met you and i am grateful to have you in my life. (no matter where you are living.. lol) I always look forward to seeing your posts to see where you are and what you are doing.
Thanks beautiful friends!
